KEAVANS PORT HOTEL

We are delighted to have worked as Architects alongside KDPA on JD Wetherspoon’s Keavan’s Port pub and hotel on Dublin’s Camden Street—the company’s largest investment in its 41-year history.

This three-year project restored eight Georgian townhouses and a chapel, adding a modern three-storey extension with a 12m-high atrium. The 89-bedroom hotel and pub take their name from the historic St Kevin’s Port, an ancient Dublin route.

Previously derelict buildings—including a convent, chapel, and boxing gym—have been revitalized. The façade features wig-pointed brickwork by The Nolan Group, a restored bullseye rose window, and ironwork by Bushy Park Ironworks.

Inside, the vast, light-filled pub overlooks a beer garden. The restored 1890s chapel now serves as a restaurant with confession box dining areas and mosaic floors by Laura O’Hagan. The domed ceiling, once overlooking Beau Jacks’ boxing ring, has also been reinstated.

The project has been featured in The Irish Times and Irish Independent.

We are delighted to have worked as Architects alongside KDPA on JD Wetherspoon’s flagship pub and hotel, Keavan’s Port, on Dublin’s Camden Street—the company’s largest investment in its 41-year history.

This three-year restoration blends eight Georgian townhouses and a chapel with a modern three-storey extension, featuring a 12m-high glazed atrium. The 89-bedroom hotel and pub take their name from the historic St Kevin’s Port, an ancient route into Dublin.

Previously derelict buildings—including a convent, chapel, stained glass works, and boxing gym—have been revitalized. The restored façade showcases wig-pointed brickwork by The Nolan Group, an iconic bullseye rose window, and ironwork by Bushy Park Ironworks.

Inside, the vast, light-filled pub is defined by its atrium and overlooks a beer garden, once interlinked residential gardens. The restored 1890s chapel now serves as a restaurant, featuring confession box dining areas and mosaic floors by Laura O’Hagan. The domed ceiling, once overlooking Beau Jacks’ boxing ring, has also been reinstated.

The project has garnered significant media attention, with features in The Irish Times and Irish Independent by Nicola Brady and Deirdre McQuillan.
